With a cast of seven female/male dancers, the choreography unfolds in a continuous flow of circular movements, both horizontally and vertically, evoking the relationship between gravity, balance, and regeneration. This choreographic journey creates a dynamic visual landscape, where “what rises falls, and what falls rises,” in a permanent interplay of forces and interdependencies. Inspired by the philosophy of Contact Improvisation, the piece is structured around a collaborative creative process, in which each performer contributes their own bodily language, creating a dance of distinct, versatile bodies open to improvisation. All in Gravity pays tribute to Steve Paxton, acknowledging his impact on dance and the performing arts, and reaffirms the relevance of Contact Improvisation as a living, adaptable, and essential practice in contemporary artistic discourse.
