about the event

The Museu do Neo-Realismo presents an anthological exhibition dedicated to Isolino Vaz, bringing together a representative set of his work and highlighting the diversity of media he explored throughout his career. Between drawing, painting, sculpture and ceramics, the exhibition offers a broad reading of an artistic path marked by formal restlessness and a strong humanist dimension.

Born in 1922 and deceased in 1992, Isolino Vaz trained at the Escola Superior de Belas-Artes do Porto and began his artistic activity in the 1940s. The exhibition also recalls his connection to the social and ethical concerns that ran through part of Portuguese postwar artistic production, as well as the affinities of his work with the aesthetic and ideological universe of neo-realism.

The visit takes place at the Museu do Neo-Realismo, in Vila Franca de Xira, and remains on view until 11 October, with free admission.
