Museu do Neo-Realismo Marks Júlio Pomar's Centenary with New Exhibition

The Museu do Neo-Realismo presents "Júlio Pomar e o Museu do Neo-Realismo", an evocative exhibition marking the centenary of the birth of Júlio Pomar (1926–2026). The show highlights the close connection between one of the major figures of 20th-century Portuguese art and the museum in Vila Franca de Xira.

Curated by David Santos, the exhibition occupies level 0 of the MNR, in the bookstore area, and brings together works and documents that bear witness to the artist’s relationship with the institution. Among the materials on display are drawings, prints, and other documents that are now part of the museum’s collection, also underscoring Júlio Pomar’s contribution to the growth of the MNR collections.
