The Douro Museum joins the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage and ICOMOS Portugal to promote the theme “Cultural Heritage: from Generation to Generation”. The initiative seeks to boost intergenerational dialogue as a tool for knowledge, development and diversity.

The activity takes place at the Douro Museum and in Murça, on 17 and 18 April 2018.

OBJECTIVES This training activity aims to characterize, understand and apply documentary photography of species and artefacts of all types for inventory, conservation and study. Throughout the sessions, various topics will be addressed, with regard to observing and recording the physical condition of the piece, the transformations and interventions it has undergone, as well as the visual information obtained in the visible and invisible spectrum. In a final phase, the training will focus on characterizing and identifying the photographic supports in existence, as well as their sizing and conservation. Trainer: José Pessoa, photography and radiography technician for the conservation of works of art Intended for: Museum, archive and library technicians, historians, archaeologists, researchers and scholars.
