A meeting of Portuguese memory with global and contemporary musical trends.

Bandua is a collaborative musical project between the Portuguese-Brazilian musician and producer Bernardo D’Addario, Criatura and the Portuguese musician and singer Edgar Valente. Focused on the connection between memory and Portuguese culture with global and contemporary musical trends, they create an electronic music with place and roots, in a sonic wave situated between the digital and the organic, or technology and tradition, breaking the boundaries between countryside and city, past and future, local and global.

In ‘BANDUA II’ - the album that arrives in 2026 - the duo begins the transhumance that departs from Beira Baixa and from the *downtempo* that characterized the first album towards other bands, other paths, with a view to bringing a broader representation of the multiculturalism that has always characterized Portuguese territory. D’Addario and Valente represent in this sense not only the legacy of a Portuguese ancestry that is the result of the most diverse cultural lineages, but also members of a generation that aims to celebrate, absorb and exude the vast plurality of global trends.

If in ‘BANDUA’ the story focused on identity and interpretive aspects of a history that began by telling that “It Was Like This”, in ‘BANDUA II’ the focus is on looking at the possibilities in what exists, with less romanticism and more reality, highlighting what, now, “It Is Like This”.

An album that inscribes at its foundation the need to accept otherness, superimposed on the preservation of identity.

A revisiting of the past, with a view to making music about the present, with ears set on the future.
