Bandstand Dances: “Parapente 700”

Os Bailes do Coreto propose a return to the dances of 50 or more years ago, bringing together dance music from various origins and inviting the public to take part. The programme begins with a workshop in traditional dances and culminates in the show "Parapente 700", a proposal centered on the encounter between voice, concertina and violin.

In "Parapente 700", Eva Parmenter and Denys Stetsenko take the audience through traditional music and dances reinvented from references across Europe, with mazurkas, polskas, scottishes and other group and partner dances. The performance brings together Portuguese, French, Italian and Swedish traditions in a dance designed to involve everyone.
