Bandstand Dances: “LITÁ FOLK BAND”

Litá Folk Band presents a programme dedicated to traditional Ukrainian music, with vocal harmonies, authentic singing, and the sounds of instruments such as the kobza, bandura, flute, violin, and cello. The performance combines music, dance, and cultural memory, with songs collected in ethnographic expeditions and a repertoire that evokes themes such as love, destiny, and humour.

The session is part of Bailes do Coreto, a project by the Municipality of Vila Real that revives the idea of the dances of 50 or more years ago, bringing together dance music from different genres and origins. On the same day there is also a Ukrainian dance gathering/workshop, with circle dances and partner dances such as hretchaneke, balamut, oira, and hopak, for a participatory and learning moment in a festive atmosphere.
