Street Parade: “Balloon Village”

"Aldeia Balão" is a street theatre and puppetry creation by Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora that brings together theatre, puppets, objects, circus arts and music. The piece follows a flying machine that carries with it the few inhabitants of an imaginary village, in a universe of metaphors where an attempt is made to revive a way of life that has already disappeared and to give new meaning to stones, earth and sand.

Throughout the performance, the performers build routines, reinvent creatures from a lost rural world and let stories unfurl that begin and do not end, in a space where the desire is simple: to find a place to inhabit one’s own dreams. Designed for audiences aged 3 and up, the proposal invites spectators to look at everyday life in a different way, through a visual and multidisciplinary language.
