Uma Noite de São João leva Mussorgsky e Mendelssohn à Casa da Música

A Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música presents a concert designed to celebrate São João, with a program of festive atmosphere and rich orchestral color. The debut of the Azorean conductor Henrique Constância at the helm of the orchestra marks the evening, which includes the Noite de São João, by Mussorgsky, the first version of the famous Noite no Monte Calvo, and the overture to O Sonho de uma Noite de Verão, by Mendelssohn.

The lineup also brings together works by Rimski-Korsakoff, Rossini and Bizet, bringing symphonic music closer to the spirit of the sanjoaninas celebrations.
