People Who Grasp the Wind with Their Hands
about the event
«Povo que agarra o vento pelas mãos» is a multidisciplinary performance included in the Commemorations of the 50th Anniversary of the Autonomy of the Azores. It brings together the nine islands of the archipelago in a creation that calls on a generation of “children of autonomy”, accompanied by artists, producers and technicians from several islands.
The proposal traces half a century of collective history between the poetic and the informative, crossing dance, theatre, music, poetry and audiovisual creation. While evoking achievements, the creation also questions challenges and looks at what autonomy means today, in a reflection that seeks to open space for the collective responsibility of preserving, strengthening and reinventing this legacy in the future.
