Someone's Children
about the event
In *Filhos de Alguém*, Nuno Costa Santos and João Pedro Porto start from a canonical bench in Ponta Delgada, associated with the death of Antero de Quental, to weave together fiction, memory, and the island’s contemporary reality. At the center are two men revealed to be brothers, figures from a collective imagination marked by family, fear, and shame, but also by the condition of those who live on the margins.
Miguel Damião’s creation presents these characters as “tragedies in motion,” in a reflection on the island’s abandonments, poverty, emigration, and the inability to respond to those who continue to fall out of place. The performance also includes audio description accessibility.
