Picnics with History

The exhibition "Piqueniques com História" brings together images of the old picnics from the feast of Santa Justa and Santa Rufina, with the aim of sharing these photographs and giving voice to the memories of those who lived through these moments. The show draws on one of the most striking images of the pilgrimage to Santa Justa: family and friends sharing food together, in an atmosphere of gathering, conviviality, and tradition that marked generations in Valongo and Gondomar.

More than a visual record, the exhibition recovers stories associated with the mountain and the feast, where picnics became an essential part of the collective experience and of local identity.
