Ophelia-s
about the event
In *Ophelia-s*, Cie Mossoux-Bonté starts from the Shakespearean figure of Ophelia to imagine what would happen if she had not died. Four women move across a stage universe of reflections and water, present at once on stage and on screen, in a dispositif that multiplies bodies and places them between lightness and a destructive attraction.
The performance offers a contemporary reading of this imaginary, questioning the ideal of beauty associated with woman as victim and object of desire. The creation is by Nicole Mossoux, who also signs the direction, in collaboration with Patrick Bonté. The performance and artistic collaboration are by Anne-Cécile Chane-Tune, Colline Libon, Frauke Mariën and Shantala Pèpe.
