There Is a Band in the Bay

"Há Banda na Baía" is a cycle promoted by the Municipality of Câmara de Lobos to highlight the philharmonic tradition of the municipality, as part of the Itinerante - Projeto de Descentralização Cultural. Throughout July, August and September, four local bands take to the stage with a street parade starting from Casa da Cultura de Câmara de Lobos and a mini-concert at Largo da Capela de Nossa Senhora da Conceição, by the bay. The initiative highlights the historical role of philharmonic bands in the cultural and community life of the municipality.
