From Coal to Electricity

The Fórum Cultural de Ermesinde hosts the exhibition "Do Carvão À Eletricidade", part of Entrelinhas. The show brings together photographs of locomotives and railcars from private collections belonging to curious visitors and railway enthusiasts, offering a visual journey through the electrification of the Porto–Ermesinde section on the Minho Line.

By revisiting this route over 60 years, the exhibition highlights a modernization process that changed regional mobility and marked Portuguese railway history on two central axes: Minho and Douro. The exhibition is open until 6 September.
