Garrison Regiment No. 1 Day

From 19 to 28 July 2026, Angra do Heroísmo hosts the Commemorations of Garrison Regiment No. 1 Day, with several initiatives spread across different spaces in the city. The programme includes the Estafeta da Salga, an exhibition of equipment and military outreach in Praça Velha, a demonstration of terrestrial search and rescue capabilities in Parque do Relvão, the Battle of Salga ceremony, the Eucharistic celebration for Unit Day, a concert by the Azores Military Band, the commemorative military ceremony for RG1 Day and a concert by the Army Light Orchestra. Admission is free.
