Donkey's Path

«Caminho do Burro» is part of FIMP – Festival Internacional de Marionetas do Porto 2026 and offers a comic and poetic reflection on freedom, seen from the perspective of a donkey who enters the stage carrying the weight of his own story. Throughout the play, the set gradually transforms and follows the journey of a migrant donkey, at different moments along his path in search of better living conditions.

The performance is interpreted by Samantha Jesus, who uses traditional puppetry techniques, and by a musician who plays various musical instruments and sound toys. The creation brings together text by Ricardo Alves and Samantha Jesus, musical direction by Laura Felício, music composed and performed by Romain Valentino, and set design and puppets by Nuno Santos and Samantha Jesus.

The 15 October session includes Portuguese Sign Language interpretation and is intended for the general public and schools; the 14 October presentation is reserved for schools.
