What Is My Name, Mummy?

"What Is My Name, Mummy?" is a theatrical production by Cegonha - Bando de Criação, suitable for the whole family, that follows the escape of the Boy and the Mother from their country of origin to the arrival in a new safe place.

The story is told through the perspective of the child protagonist, with a visual and expressive approach that blends circus, puppetry, animation and digital scenography. Along the journey, moments from the everyday process of adaptation emerge — from the backpack to the language, from food to routines — in a path that reveals difficulties, discoveries and also moments of excitement. The play weaves this narrative together with questions of identity and belonging, in a context shaped by the idea of refuge.

The performance on 20 September includes interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language. The following day, the show is presented in two sessions aimed at preschool and primary school audiences.
