Street Parade: “SOMBRAS”

"SOMBRAS", by Teatro Só, is a visual theatre performance that starts from an intimate look at the emotions of a victim of domestic violence. Rather than focusing on moral judgement, the proposal makes the audience an involuntary witness to a pain that normally finds no place in the street.

Performed on stilts and with flamboyant costumes, the performance intersects the language of public space with the approach to a delicate subject, turning that presence on stage into a gesture of confrontation with an old taboo. At its centre is an emotional journey in search of personal redemption and the reconquest of the self.
