sobre o evento

Casa da Baía, in Setúbal, will host the painting exhibition "Poor Rich Boy... and some private portraits" by artist Filipe Blanquet, starting June 30th. This exhibition proposes an immersion into the complexity of the human mind and the emotional territories that lie beyond what we understand as normality. The painter's work stems from a fascination with characters marked by intense, contradictory, and profoundly unique inner universes—figures who live between vulnerability, excess, and the constant search for identity. The main collection presents the portrait of a man shaped by privilege, excess, and the absence of limits. Raised in a context of material and emotional abundance, the protagonist lives driven by adrenaline, immediate pleasure, and a refusal to consider the consequences. Through remarkable psychological tension and visual seduction, the works reveal the fragility hidden beneath the aesthetics of luxury and apparent freedom, exposing a body and mind in slow self-destruction and reflecting on a generation that confuses consumption with affection and intensity with meaning. Alongside the main collection, the exhibition also includes a selection of portraits commissioned by private clients, developed within the same visual language. These pieces expand the exhibition's scope to real people, crossing identity, intimacy, and artistic interpretation in an approach that transforms the traditional portrait into a more psychological and expressive exercise.
