Pax Júlia Teatro Municipal is a cultural venue in the city of Beja, managed by the Beja City Council. Its public history is linked to the former Cine-Teatro Pax Julia, inaugurated in 1928, closed at the end of the 1980s and acquired by the municipality in 1994 for restoration. It reopened as the municipal theatre on 17 June 2005. Information from the Portuguese Network of Theatres and Cinemas identifies, after the municipal intervention, three activity spaces: the main hall, the studio hall and the café-concert space. The programme published by the theatre and by the authorised ticket office includes shows, cinema, music, theatre, festivals and activities by local organisations.
