about the event
Based on the book *Plantas do Mundo*, Fernanda Botelho proposes an integrative and interactive workshop devoted to the stories of plants that travelled, were cultivated, and became part of everyday life in Portugal. The session brings together botany, culture, and music, linking the cultivation of species such as sugar cane, cotton, or tobacco to the origins of jazz, capoeira, and blues. At the end, participants will be able to take home geranium cuttings, boldo, or sunflower seeds, among other plants.
