Uma performance, meu Deus

In A Performance, My God, Flávia Gusmão embodies Esmeralda, a Mexican-born actress who seeks to carry out a performance in which she cannot move and remains covered by a kind of *burka*. At the same time, her mind does not slow down, making room for memories, dreams and anxieties about her own identity.

With text by Jacinto Lucas Pires, the play crosses memory, dream and the tension between art and life. Esmeralda evokes her son, her ex-husband and her friends, dreams of doing theatre and tries to assert herself in a territory where being on stage is also a form of resistance. The show is presented at Teatro Municipal Joaquim Benite, in Almada.
