OML 2026/2027 Season

The OML 2026/2027 Season brings together ten performances by the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa at Teatro Tivoli BBVA, on a journey from Mendelssohn to Beethoven, from Mozart to Stravinsky, always under the direction of various guest conductors and with the presence of soloists and orchestra musicians.

The opening takes place on 14 September with “Italiana de Mendelssohn”, conducted by Pedro Neves, in a programme that brings together works by Cherubini and Joly Braga Santos with the celebrated Italian Symphony. In October, the Metropolitan’s Participatory Choir, the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa and soloists perform Beethoven’s Ninth, marking 40 years of Portugal in the European Union, and the following month brings “Quinta de Schubert”, with Krišš Russman, soprano Ana Rosa, a new work by the conductor himself and the Fifth Symphony.

In December, “Mozart Concertante” brings together Luís Carvalho, Jieun Son and Madalena Lopes, before the season continues in 2027 with “Escocesa de Mendelssohn”, “O Pássaro de Fogo”, “Beethoven: Revolução AV” — an immersive creation with Boris Chimp 504 —, “Zoo Sinfonias” and the Metropolitan Birthday Concert, dedicated to Wagner. The finale is the Paulo Gaio Lima Festival, in two concerts conducted by Bruno Borralhinho, with Claudio Bohórquez and winners and laureates of the Paulo Gaio Lima Prize.
