Tamara Stefanovich - Dialogues

Porto Pianofest closes its 11th edition with a recital by Tamara Stefanovich at the Auditório do Museu, in Serralves. In "Dialogues", the pianist proposes a journey through five centuries of piano writing, taking Bach as the central point of reference and making his music run through the entire programme, both in the opening Capriccio and in the final pages of The Art of Fugue.

Between these two points, works by Kurtág, Debussy, Liszt, Ligeti, Scriabin, Abrahamsen and contemporary composers appear, in a continuous play of listening, response and counterpoint. The result is a recital built as a musical conversation, in which works from different eras come close together and illuminate one another in the hands of an interpreter recognised for her dedicated work in the contemporary repertoire and in dialogue with the canon.
