Promised Valley Conference Center

In *Promised Valley Conference Center*, Mickaël de Oliveira follows a theatre group from a Christian school preparing to take part in an ecumenical theatre festival at a university in the United States. As the process unfolds, students and teachers discuss the text on stage, its translation, and moral questions of biblical and philosophical nature, until a tragedy shakes the possibility of bringing the show to the stage.

The play is part of the *Pequenos Males* trilogy, in which the author examines the various forms of “evil” in contemporary life: in the political field, in *Crocodile Club*; in the spheres of religion and education, in this creation; and in the artistic universe, in *Adaptação*. The three works dialogue with one another and cross theatre and cinema, with staging and film editing serving as the central device of the scenic writing.

The presentation includes text, staging, and film direction by Mickaël de Oliveira, and performances by Afonso Santos, Helena Caldeira, Joana Santos, Luís Araújo, and Vasco Buisson Araújo.
