September Programme of Coimbra Children's Library and Branch Libraries

The September programme of Biblioteca Infantil de Coimbra and the Municipal Branch Libraries brings together activities for children during the school holidays, combining reading, imagination, artistic expression and handicrafts.

At the Children's Library, the “Oficinas de Verão” are intended for children aged 6 to 9 and take place from 10h30 to 12h00. In September, they include the themed session “Contos com Aranhas”, on 3 de setembro. The programme also includes “Puxa… que nabo”, organised by the Serviço de Livro Antigo, on 1 de setembro, and “Missão Arquivo com o Lumi”, led by the Arquivo Histórico Municipal, on 8 de setembro.

At the Municipal Branch Libraries of Almalaguês, Assafarge, Brasfemes, São João do Campo, Cernache, Ribeira de Frades and Souselas, the programme “Férias Mágicas: ler, ouvir e fazer… tudo pode acontecer!” continues, aimed at children aged 6 to 12. The sessions focus on playful, educational and creative activities to encourage library attendance and reading habits. Individual participation is free; groups must register in advance with the relevant library.

Since 20 de agosto, Biblioteca Municipal de Coimbra has also had a new space dedicated to children, designed to provide a more welcoming experience for children and their families.
