Planetarium of Porto - Biosphere of Darkness

Hundreds of meters or kilometers below the Earth's surface, in the depths of the crust, where there is no light, air or almost any water, in pores and fissures of hard rock, scientists have discovered an enormous biodiversity of microorganisms that thrive in extreme conditions. The Biosphere of Darkness challenges everything we thought we knew and leads us to rethink not only the origin and evolution of life on Earth, but also its possible existence throughout the Universe.
