Nightborn

In Nightborn, Saga and her British husband, Jon, move into the old family home, isolated in the Finnish forests, where they hope to build a perfect family life. After the baby is born, Saga begins to suspect that something is deeply wrong with the child, while the marriage unravels under the weight of doubt and isolation.

Directed by Hanna Bergholm, the filmmaker behind Hatching, the film explores the less photogenic side of unconditional love through a body horror story about motherhood and birth. Seidi Haarla and Rupert Grint are part of the cast. Nightborn premiered in the Berlinale competition and is screened at Cinema São Jorge.
