Museu da Baleia da Madeira

The Museu da Baleia da Madeira, in Caniçal, offers a visit dedicated to Madeira's maritime heritage and the legacy of whaling, with a focus also on marine conservation.

Throughout the tour, visitors will find life-size models of whales and dolphins, interactive 3D films and an ethnographic collection of tools, objects and memories linked to whaling life. The visit also includes access to the temporary exhibition and an individual audio guide device in Portuguese, English, French, German and Spanish. The museum also presents current projects in scientific research and marine conservation.
