Macedo in Classical

Macedo de Cavaleiros hosts the first edition of the Macedo in Classical Festival, entirely dedicated to chamber music. The Church of São Pedro hosts four concerts with the String Quartet and the Wind Quintet, bringing together Portuguese performers such as Francisco Ferreira, António Malta Gomes, Nelson Cruzeiro, Pedro Fernandes, Diogo Mendes, Mariana Oliveira, João Soeiro, José Pereira and Carlos Lopes.

Over the three days, the programme features works by Felix Mendelssohn, Antonín Reicha, Alexander Borodin, Dmitri Shostakovich, August Klughardt, Carl Nielsen, Giuseppe Cambini, Júlio Medaglia and Diogo Mendes, in a festival designed to bring the public closer to this repertoire and highlight young musicians and the cultural life of the municipality.
