about the event
*Leibniz – Chronicle of a Lost Painting*, by Edgar Reitz, begins with the commission of a portrait of the Enlightenment philosopher Leibniz made by Queen Charlotte of Prussia. From this encounter between painter and model, the film unfolds as a succession of conversations around the truth of representation in art.
The July 4 screening also includes a post-screening conversation with José Meirinhos, Sílvia Bento and Vítor Guerreiro, in collaboration with the Instituto de Filosofia da FLUP.
