about the event
The first major exhibition of Lee Ufan in Portugal brings together works spanning six decades of research into the relationship between interior and exterior, object and environment. At the Casa and in the Parque de Serralves, the South Korean artist brings natural and industrial materials, such as stone, steel and glass, into dialogue, making space, gravity, tension and emptiness visible.
The presentation includes three outdoor sculptures installed in the park, six paintings — one of them conceived specifically for the space — and three sculptures inside the house. The exhibition highlights the concept of *Relatum*, central to Lee Ufan’s sculptural practice, and the meditative dimension of his paintings, marked by minimal gestures and restrained brushstrokes.
On view from 15 October 2026 to 31 March 2027, the exhibition extends the artist’s interest in the ongoing dialogue between matter, landscape, architecture and the viewer.
