Kuroneko

*Kuroneko* is a horror fable set in a war-torn feudal Japan, where revenge takes supernatural form. After being raped and killed by samurai, a woman and her daughter-in-law return as spirits to seduce warriors and lead them into a trap near the Rajomon gate.

When a war hero is called upon to face the threat, the confrontation goes beyond fear: the film blends macabre fantasy, social critique, and a feminist perspective, also relying on black-and-white cinematography that heightens the story’s unsettling atmosphere.
