about the event
The July programme at Quinta Alegre brings together several participatory and social activities, always with free admission and advance booking. Throughout the month there is a varied offer, designed for different audiences, ranging from music to handicrafts, as well as dance and community gatherings in the garden and cultural space.
Among the highlights is July 4 with Espaço Baião - Forró. On July 11, the initiative Muitas vidas, muitas vozes combines a swap fair and a choir gathering, with performances by Coro Menor, Cant’Alegre, Coro do Regador and Coro Vozes da Terra. This gathering also includes the participation of people from the Centro de Desenvolvimento Comunitário da Charneca, the Centro de Dia do Alto do Lumiar and the ERPI – Quinta Alegre.
The programme continues on July 18 with DAHÚ – Danças Tradicionais Europeias, led by Mariana Correia, and with Olaria para Todos, a workshop for adults led by Fernando Sarmento. There is also a jazz cycle in the Santa Clara garden, in three late-afternoon sessions, with performances by Sara Lilu and Beatriz Fonseca, by Sul with Bernando Couto, Luís Figueiredo and Bernardo Moreira, and by João Ribeiro Trio.
