Impulsus by Norberto Nunes

“IMPULSUS” presents a phase of intense technical and aesthetic experimentation by Norberto Nunes, in a collection that goes beyond the limits of two-dimensional painting. The exhibition combines low-relief engraving and oil painting, turning the surface into sculpted matter, with grooves and volumes that capture the light and guide the eye dynamically.

The project is structured around three vectors: the line, as a matrix structure; colour, which intensifies volumes and depths; and movement, associated with Norberto Nunes’s career as a director of advertising films. The result is a visual language that brings together body, rhythm and sensory dimension.

Born in 1942, Norberto Nunes studied at the Escola de Artes Decorativas António Arroio and the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes. With a career spanning advertising and the visual arts, he achieved international recognition. The opening takes place in two locations, at the galleries of the Junta de Freguesia de Espinho and the Centro Multimeios de Espinho.
