Exhibitions: “Somos Todos/as Migrantes” and “Conhece Mesmo Vila Verde?”

The Municipality of Vila Verde presents the exhibitions “Somos Todos/as Migrantes” and “Conhece Mesmo Vila Verde?” simultaneously, two proposals that invite reflection on migration, cultural diversity, inclusion, and local identity.

“Somos Todos/as Migrantes” brings together photographs and testimonies from the international STAND project, co-financed by the European Union and developed within the Portuguese Network of Intercultural Cities. The exhibition gives visibility to the stories of immigrants who chose Vila Verde as their home and emigrants who left the municipality in search of new opportunities, tracing paths marked by challenges, memories, bonds, and life projects.

Meanwhile, “Conhece Mesmo Vila Verde?” presents a selection of the best phrases from the contest of the same name, created to raise awareness of the social and cultural reality of the municipality and to promote the values of respect, equality, inclusion, and intercultural coexistence.

The opening was attended by the vice-president of Vila Verde City Hall, Manuel Lopes, and was part of the Festival InterNações programme, an initiative dedicated to encounters between cultures, traditions, music, and community participation.
