Uma Árvore Exhibition by Daniel Moreira and Rita Castro Neves

about the event

“Uma Árvore”, by Daniel Moreira and Rita Castro Neves, is the result of three years of research and creation centred on the carob tree at Quinta da Parra, in Moncarapacho. Classified as a Tree of Public Interest by the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF), this tree more than six hundred years old is the starting point for an exhibition built from images, sounds, materials and narratives collected during several artistic residencies at the site.

The *environment-rooms* propose an embodied and immersive experience, bringing together natural phenomena, ancestry, scientific knowledge, collective memory and animist culture. The exhibition also addresses the political and socioeconomic dimensions of the landscape, vernacular practices and the relationships between the communities that make it up.

The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday, between 10h00 and 12h30 and between 14h00 and 17h30, until 24 de outubro de 2026. Daniel Moreira and Rita Castro Neves develop a practice attentive to rural contexts and local ecologies, bringing together creation and research, documentation and artwork, process and result.
