The exhibition “Outros Olhares” presents works by Olímpia Barbosa, an artist born in Santa Marinha, Vila Nova de Gaia, in a body of work inspired by the theme “A Mulher” and by the poem of Maria Mamede. The exhibition brings together painting and photography, reflecting different phases of her work, from hyper-realism to abstraction, with special attention to the female universe.
The curatorship is by Rosalina Santos. Olímpia Barbosa, who began painting in 1997, has an extensive background in solo and group exhibitions, as well as experience in black-and-white artistic photography, writing, and studies in Art History and Painting.
