Exhibition: The Paths of Clay in Vila Verde: From the Neolithic to the Iron Age

about the event

At the Centro Interpretativo do Artesanato em Cerâmica, in Vila de Prado, this temporary exhibition brings together some of the most emblematic ceramic remains found at archaeological sites in the municipality of Vila Verde, with pieces from the collections of Museu de Arqueologia D. Diogo de Sousa.

The exhibition presents the oldest ceramics identified in the Vila Verde area, some over 7,000 years old, and proposes a journey through the history, ways of life, and practices of the communities that lived there from the Neolithic to the Iron Age.

Organized by Município de Vila Verde in partnership with Museu de Arqueologia D. Diogo de Sousa, it has the scientific support of Isabel Maria Fernandes, Luciano Vilas Boas, and Manuela Martins. The opening was part of the celebrations for the 1st anniversary of the Centro Interpretativo do Artesanato em Cerâmica, reinforcing this space as a place for preserving and sharing the memory linked to clay and local archaeological heritage.
