Meetings - July

Meetings - July proposes a double screening at Cineteatro Municipal Messias, with two works from 2026 and 1937 linked by the relationship between the past, transformation and the evocation of memory. First, "Progresso Sem Memória" follows the last journey of the BA-61 locomotive, through the voices of the inhabitants of Pampilhosa. Then, "Maria Papoila", directed by Leitão de Barros, revisits a classic of Portuguese cinema about a young peasant woman who leaves for Lisbon and lives a story of love and sacrifice. The initiative includes the collaboration of Cinemateca Portuguesa and Joana Leitão de Barros.
