about the event
In *Dói-me o Corpo de Jazer Nessa Esperança*, the audience encounters a contemporary revisiting of the myth of Hecuba, with classical Greek tragedy as a starting point for reflecting on the place of pain, memory, and female identity.
The creation begins with Troy and with Hecuba, a figure associated with the mask of tears, to question what remains of that fate after 2,500 years and whether this character can still rise, walk, and rewrite her image. The performance incorporates Portuguese Sign Language and brings together text by Jorge Palinhos, staging by Marco António Rodrigues, and performances by Isabel Craveiro, Margarida Sousa, Milene Fialho, and Tomás Barroso.
