Days and Nights in the Forest

*Days and Nights in the Forest* is presented in a 4K restoration at Batalha Centro de Cinema, as part of the Tesouros do Arquivo program.

Directed by Satyajit Ray, the film follows four young people from Calcutta during a weekend in a forest in the interior. What begins as an attempt to escape urban life gradually becomes a portrait of insecurities and prejudices.

The copy shown was restored in 4K and presented in Cannes in 2025, as part of a project by The Film Foundation, led by Wes Anderson and overseen by Ray’s family.
