Daniel Pereira Concert

Spanish pianist Daniel Pereira leads the fourth concert of the 2nd edition of Barcelos Fest Ensemble, in a recital dedicated to the evolution of piano writing between the 18th and 20th centuries. The programme includes Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Pathetique” Sonata, Frédéric Chopin’s Nocturne Op. 48 No. 1, a selection of preludes by Alexander Scriabin, and concludes with Alberto Ginastera’s Sonata No. 1.

As in the other concerts of the cycle, the session includes commentary by Miguel Leite, who places the works performed in their historical and musicological context.
