The celebrations mark the 41st anniversary of Amarante being elevated to city status and bring together several proposals throughout the day, from the “Idade de Ouro” gathering and the performances by Grupo de Bombos de Santa Maria de Jazente, Fole e Festa and Augusto Canário, to the ceremony for awarding the Municipality’s Medals of Honour for Merit. The highlight of the evening is the symphonic fado concert with Sara Correia and the Orquestra do Norte, at Parque Ribeirinho.
