Municipality Day Commemoration 2026

Municipality Day Commemoration 2026 is marked with official acts and a solemn session at the Casa das Artes Auditorium, including the flag-raising with the participation of the Volunteer Firefighters, the National Scout Corps, and the Arcos de Valdevez Musical Society Band, as well as the induction of Mr. Dr. João Manuel Esteves into the Gallery of Tribute to Mayors and the unveiling of the plaque of the Municipal Bodies of the 2021-2025 Term.

At Paço de Giela, the Historical Reenactment of the Recontro de Valdevez 2026 extends the commemoration with doors opening and activities at 11:00 and, at 22:00, the historical reenactment show and horse tournament "O Recontro de Valdevez de 1141 – Afonso and the Conquest of Lisbon". Admission is free and the program spans several days.
