Café Curto 2026 Music Cycle
about the event
In 2026, Café Curto returns to the Café Concerto at Convento São Francisco with an expanded programme and a new phase of growth, in an edition that also marks 10 years of this cultural venue. The series keeps its weekly sessions between January and June and between September and December, with a break in July and August, and strengthens its commitment to emerging music and dialogue between local and national artists.
With curation by Blue House, co-production by Convento São Francisco and funding from the Coimbra City Council, the project deepens partnerships and introduces new programming lines. New features include a collaboration with Festival Emergente, which brings five dates dedicated to new talents selected through a national open call, and work with the Professional Jazz Course of EACMC, through artistic residencies with public presentation. The MIC will also become part of an intensive mentoring programme with training organisations from the city.
Throughout the year, the series presents more than forty sessions and connects with other moments in Coimbra’s cultural life, establishing itself as a space for encounter, experimentation and artistic sharing. It kicks off with Joana Guerra and Miguel Gouveia, followed by names such as Marta Lima, JP Simões with Pedro Renato, Puçanga, Sophie Djebel Rose, Jhon Douglas, Afonso Cabral with CAIO and, later on, CPJAZZ.
