After reading Gil Vicente ("Auto de Exortação da Guerra") and José Saramago ("Alabardas") and after living through the immense sadness of the passing times, we feel that we lack a text such as "Auto de Exortação da Paz." In it, the inner contradictions of four women constrained by life, subjugated by a cruel foreman, in the service of an invisible boss, are reproduced on stage. They produce ammunition for a war as incomprehensible as the boss. As with other texts already produced for Teatro das Beiras, this one will serve for the pleasure of the gods and for the audience’s enjoyment. José Carretas
