*Antígona* is one of the greatest texts in world drama and the most staged play in the history of theatre. Over the centuries, it has known countless versions and interpretations. Today, the genocide in Palestine inevitably evokes references and parallels with some of the readings of the 20th century. In this production, the aim is, on the one hand, to highlight the universality of the work across time and space, as is characteristic of Companhia Atalaya's creations. On the other hand, it seeks to update the language and aesthetics of the staging through the minimalism that distinguishes the company, without confining it to realistic episodes of the present day and preserving its rhythm, its mythical dimension and its poetic force.
