about the event
In the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ganna flees with her children and elderly mother from the bombardments near Kyiv. On the run, the family finds shelter in Poland with Kaja, an artist and mother of five children, and a relationship of mutual support grows between the two women, helping them face loss, uncertainty and trauma.
Narrated from the perspective of a refugee, the film also follows the family’s separation, with Ganna’s father remaining in Ukraine, and the children’s difficult adjustment to exile. The work looks at the experience of Ukrainian women and children refugees in Poland during the first months of the Russo-Ukrainian war, in a portrait of resilience, solidarity and the meaning of home. The screening takes place in the presence of the director.
